UFC 267: Blachowicz vs. Teixeira Betting Guide
UFC 267 Blachowicz vs Teixeira Betting Guide
Just a reminder, prelims start at 10:30 am, main card starts at 2:00 pm EST on Saturday.
Jan Blachowicz (-305) vs. Glover Teixeira (+240)
Jan Blachowicz looked near perfect in his last fight against Israel Adesanya. A fight where he was listed as a large underdog himself. Now he faces off against 41 year old, Glover Teixeira. Great to see Teixeira making a run for the belt this late in his career.
Teixeira is on a 5 fight winning streak, only 2 of those wins were against top talent in the lightweight division. Blachowicz is not the man you want to run into when trying to become the UFC champion.
Blachowicz is so talented, he has the skills to handle any situation that gets thrown at him. Besides bringing Polish power to the table, his gas tank is off the charts. Jan Blachowicz is a safe bet, a nice piece to any parlay.
Bet: Jan Blachowicz (-305)
Petr Yan (-235) vs. Cory Sandhagen (+190)
A little surprised the odds are this far apart. Seeing Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen both fought Aljamain Sterling, Vegas probably just did some quick fight math to come up with these odds.
Regardless, seems like a great opportunity to bet on Cory Sandhagen. Sandhagen’s last fight resulted in a split decision loss to T.J. Dillashaw. A fight where most people even himself thought won. Sandhagen should feel confident entering this title fight against Yan.
Yan is a very technically sound fighter, he does not really have any holes in his game. However, Sandhagen brings an unorthodox fighting style, followed by a decent size advantage. Which could fluster Yan and make him give up his game plan.
Love the underdog value of Cory Sandhagen here.
Bet: Cory Sandhagen (+190)
Jingliang Li (+425) vs. Khamzat Chimaev (-590)
After a year away from the cage, and a premature retirement, Khamzat Chimaev is back. Chimaev is fighting Jingliang Li at welterweight, he is normally a middleweight. Makes you wonder if he is 100% fully recovered from the virus yet.
On the other hand, Li aka Leech has looked as sharp as ever. The last time we saw Leech, he knocked out Santiago Ponzinibbio in the first round. A fight where just about everyone had picked him to lose.
UFC 267 is chock full of massive underdogs. Leech just might be my favorite underdog bet. Hard to look past how sharp Leech has looked. Plus too many uncertainties around what we will see from Chimaev. Just talked myself into betting Leech.
Bet: Jingliang Li (+425)
Jingliang wins by TKO/KO (+750)
Magomed Ankalaev (-310) vs. Volkan Oezdemir (+245)
Have to agree with Vegas on the odds here. Magomed Ankalaev is the more sound fighter in this match-up. Oezdemir may have a slight advantage in striking. However, the massive gap in the odds comes from Ankalaev's unbelievable wrestling.
Ankalaev has such a strong top pressure, that once he gets Oezemir he should be able to do enough to secure the round or finish him. No need to spend much time breaking this fight down, the odds to a good job.
Bet: Magomed Ankalaev (-310)
Albert Duraev (-335) vs. Roman Kopylov (+260)
Albert Duraev was absolutely electric on Dana White's contender series last month. Duraev said he would fight every month, and he got exactly what he asked for. Debuting against another Russian prospect, Roman Kopylov.
Duraev is a menace, out of his 14 professional wins, 9 have come by submission. Kopylov does not have the best defense on the ground. In his UFC debut, he lost to Karl Roberson by rear naked choke. Kopylov is in a world of trouble because Duraev is an even better grappler.
Fully expectDuraev to take advantage of the spotlight that UFC 267 brings. If your book offers it bet on Albert Duraev to win by finish.
Bet: Albert Duraev (-320)
